I just returned from a fantastic adventure in Costa Rica! I was traveling alone so I decided to plan my trip via a tour company. I found Costa Rica Expeditions and made all my arrangements with them via email. I chose the Ultimate Costa Rica Adventure tour, which is full of fun and interesting activities. I wasn’t sure what to expect but the trip turned out great! I arrived in Costa Rica and Costa Rica Expeditions was there to meet me at the airport. Southern California is a potpourri of people from a wide variety of places. I rarely meet a “native Californian” in these parts. Even though people converge here from everywhere else, they all have one thing in common – that is, crazy driving!
Driving the streets is always an adventure. More often than not, there is some person in back of me just itching to get ahead. So the person quickly scoots into the right lane, puts the pedal to metal, and speeds up ahead of me, only to beat me by a second or two to the red light!
I get a good laugh at this “race to the red light” up ahead. Why put pedal to the metal when we can all see the light is turned red up ahead? Some people are so competitive!
My next favorite southern California driving adventure is on the freeways. Insane, I tell you! Don’t bother getting on the freeway during certain hours because you will certainly sit in traffic for hours. Where else can you find a six-lane highway that looks like a packed parking lot?
But back to my real rant. Here is a typical scene on the freeway (when it’s not so crowded): I put my right blinker on to switch lanes. The car in the right lane is more than one car length behind so I have plenty of room to move over. So what do you think the brainiac does? Speeds up to get ahead of me!
It’s maddening I tell you! And the parking lots in the shopping centers…well, all I can say is be careful!
Why do we love southern California? Not for the insane traffic, and certainly not for the crazy driving. We love it for the beautiful weather, the ocean breeze, and the view of the snow capped mountains from the ocean.

Today is Martin Luther King Day.
Martin Luther King, Jr., a Baptist minister, was a driving force in the push for racial equality in the 1950′s and the 1960′s. Thrust into the national spotlight in Birmingham, where he was arrested and jailed, King organized a massive march on Washington, DC, on August 28, 1963. On the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, he evoked the name of Lincoln in his “I Have a Dream” speech, which is credited with mobilizing supporters of desegregation and prompted the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The next year, King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Revolution Magazine theme is very customizable and includes an enhanced featured video location on the theme. The front page features 3 columns, with the right-most column splitting into 2 columns on the lower part of the page. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know how much I LOVE this style.
You can feature articles in the left column with larger photos, and other supporting articles in the center column with smaller photos. The right column has a spot for a video and other ad spaces with the usual archives and categories below in the 2 column area. Another nice touch are the text menus across the top, just below the header.
Brian also provides tutorials for his WordPress themes and answers all his emails.
